This pair of tongs is a lovely pair of cast and pierced tongs. They are quite simple in style which is expected for the early date. They have the early maker's mark, which was registered in 1768. I have dated these tongs to c1768 - 1770. Notice the finely engraved monogram placed at a diagonal on the bow which has a very plain thread edge engraved.
