In some ways there is nothing remarkable about these tongs. They are very standard fiddle pattern. The exception is the octagonal bowls. I have seen several similar pairs from Exeter makers:

But these are the only London maker tongs I have of this style.

These tongs are in excellent condition and are dated 1816/17. They are just over 5.1/2 inches long and weigh nearly 50 grams.
