This particular pair of tongs is bright cut engraved with a trailing leaf and flower pattern to the top half of the arms and a series of half-moon shaped patterns down the sides of the arms. The bowls are deep cut engraved in a leaf pattern, which is quite common with tongs of this period. They are dated 1786 - 1790.
