This pair of tongs is dated c1786 - 1790. The hallmark and maker's marks are now under the bow. This seems to be a feature of this maker which is quite unusual. The tongs are a lovely pair of bright cut tongs with the engraving still bright and clear. The monogram is of an unusual style, perhaps added later and the bowls are a deep cut engraved pattern.
