This pair of tongs is dated 1790/91. The hallmark and maker's marks are now under the bow. This seems to be a feature of this maker which is quite unusual. The style of the tongs is lovely with an eye-catching "bunch" towards the tops of the arms and a stylish loop in the bowls.
