These are a a pair of straight sided bright cut tongs with a lovely engraved flower pattern to the tops of the arms. They have little scrolls around the vacant cartouche. These tongs are a little unusual in that they are somewhat shorter than normal, being only just 5 inches long. I have dated them at around 1784.
