John Lacey Hawkins was apprenticed to Stephen Adams and entered his first mark as a spoon-maker on 2^nd November 1802. He entered several marks after that, up to 13^th September 1831. These tongs are bright cut, flared sugar tongs, dated 1810/11. The maker's mark is worn but still just about recognisable.
