These tongs are dated 1805/06 and are bright cut. They are interesting as from looking at them, one would guess them to be dated at around 1790 -1795. They are unusually wide and a little shorter than normal. They cartouche to the top of the arms is unusual, looking as if these tongs were made to order but the cartouche never having been engraved.
