These are a delightful pair of bright cut tongs. As well as the monogram on the bow they have two monograms on the sides of the arms - one that is simply "1834" and the other  that is a monogram that looks like TSS.

Given the date they were made (1798/99) they could have been made by either Henry Nutting or Hannah Northcote.
