This is a lovely pair of bright cut engraved tongs with a concave bow and the characteristic deep cut lines to the bowls. They have a contemporary monogram. They are highly unusual in having two sets of initials engraved to the insides of the arms, one on each arm. My guess would be that these are marriage initials. They are dated between 1786 and 1790.
