This pair of tongs is bright cut and is quite remarkable for their weight, weighing a massive 60 grams, twice as much as a normal pair of tongs. They have a beautiful bright cut engrave pattern and are marked with the thistle and duty mark on one arm and the maker’s mark on the other and are dated c1795.
