This pair of tongs is very typically Scottish, being fiddle pattern with concave shoulders and bow and having shell bowls. They are clearly marked with the Dundee pot of lilies, struck three times and the maker's mark "D". This maker is unknown but the mark is seen at around 1830 which is the approximated date of these tongs.
