These tongs are standard London fiddle pattern and clearly over-struck. While the maker's mark looks like "FLG", this is just because it has not been struck very well. These are bright cut engraved tongs with the standard style bright cut engraving for John Le Gallais' work.; These tongs have a 5 letter monogram that appears to be "EADLM". This is normal for Channel Islands monograms. They are dated 1849/50.
