This is a stunning pair of York sugar tongs.  They have superb provincial bright cut engraving to the top half of the arms which is still pristine and clear. They are also special in that they have the right facing Lion Passant. This is only seen on York tongs, but what is very special is that they have the small "w" workman's or letter mark used at the York assay office c.1808-10.  I have never seen this punched on tongs before.
