These tongs are a beautiful example of early tongs made in three parts. The arms can very clearly been seen as having been made separately to the bow. They have a beaded pattern around the edges of the arms and deep acorn bowls. They also sport a lovely engraved monogram, flanked by two flowers. I would date these at between 1773 and 1775.
