As befits makers of this period, many of the tongs made by Eley, Fearn & Chawner are plain, however we do see two pairs of bright cut tongs below. Eley, Fearn & Chawner were part of the famous Chawner company, entering their mark together on 10th April 1808. This apparently lasted until 5th October 1814 after which Eley & Fearn entered a mark without Chawner.

William Eley I, William Fearn & William Chawner were prolific makers of flatware. They were in fact an integral part of the early Chawner company and much of their work is still available to collect.
