Thomas Nash II registered a mark as a small-worker on 13th April 1786. There is some doubt as to whether he is the same person as Thomas Nash I, who registered his first mark in 1759. Thomas Nash I was recorded as bankrupt in September 1782.

This "TN" mark is somewhat difficult to identify. The mark could well be that of Thomas Northcote who is well known for making sugar tongs. The difficulty with this is that Thomas Northcote died on 22nd May 1798 and all three of these tongs are dated after that. Unfortunately I am struggling to find any other maker with the initials "TN" at around this time.

Anyone who can enlighten me further would be very welcome,
