These are a pair of early feather edge tongs. The edge is serated when it is felt. They have circular 
    bowls with heavily engraved curving lines. These tongs also have an 
    engraved "Adam style" flower pattern to the shoulders. Note that these tongs are 
    NOT bright cut.
    The other interesting point about these tongs is that they are marked with 
    the maker's mark twice and no Lion Passant. Thomas & William Chawner will not have paid duty, or the 
    hallmarking fees, on these tongs. In legal terms, these tongs cannot 
    legally be sold as solid silver. The maker's mark is different on 
    these tongs to the other two pairs.
