Susanna Barker registered her first mark as a small-worker on 25th June 1778. and then further marks up to 1789. Robert Barker is believed to have been her son & he registered a mark in 1793 by which time Susanna Barker is presumed to have been dead. We see very few tongs by her. This pair is a lovely early pair of bright cut tongs with a delightful flower engraved in the bowls.  You can clearly see that the maker's mark is over-struck so it is unlikely that she made these tongs herself. They are dated c1780.
