George Smith III has a very distinctive script makerís mark. He entered his first mark on 1st February 1774 as a spoon-maker. This was followed by a number of others up to 1786. His first mark in partnership with William Fearn was on 3rd November 1786.

His marks are also noticeably very different from each other. The dates that I have attributed to each mark are only tentative.
