This pair of cast silver sugar tongs are by George Smith 
II. They are dated c1775 and have an Adam style engraving to the top of 
the arms. They have one repair to one of the arms which is very hard to 
detect.
The absolutely fascinating fact about these 
sugar tongs is their similarity to another pair featured on the web-site, by
Thomas Wallis I.
Try looking at both pages at the same time 
- they are clearly the same design, from the same mold. Does this mean 
that these two makers were connected in some way?
