This is another pair of gorgeous tongs. They have lovely sharp bright cut engraving and a unique style, with cut in shoulders and beautifully shaped acorn bowls. They have no monogram and are marked with just the lion passant and maker’s mark, dating them some time before 1784. Sadly these tongs have had one of the bowls repaired but it does not detract from what is a lovely pair of early Exeter sugar tongs.
