William Robertson is recorded from 1789 in Edinburgh. The first pair is a plain pair of flared tongs, quite unusual for Scottish tongs. They are very narrow and of a flared design. They are clearly hallmarked for 1805.

The second pair is also a little unusual, having a very wide bow and being a completely straight design. This pair of tongs is marked with the castle and dated c1800.

The maker's mark for these two pairs of tongs is slightly different so we cannot be sure that they are actually by William Robertson.
