These tongs are an earlier style, with scalloped bowls, reminiscent of cast tongs. They have the expected Irish star engraved to the tops of the arms which have a bright cut engraved pattern down the edges. The hallmarks indicate they are dated approximately between 1775 and 1786, but definitely no later than 1786.
