Jackson shows James Warner became free in 1799 and worked until 1830.  He also goes on to say that John Warner, James Warner & John Williams were all working in Cork at around the same time. Because maker’s marks were not registered, we cannot be certain about which of the three made what. Nevertheless, it is believed that this mark is that of James Warner. These tongs are bright cut and still in lovely condition. I have tentatively dated them at c1800.
